CIB launches brand-new real estate experience platform Spotto, built by Tobania

To provide a one-stop ecosystem to its member-brokers, the Flemish Confederation of Real Estate Professionals (De Vlaamse Confederatie van Immobiliënberoepen - CIB) decided to establish a new real estate platform. Rather than a traditional search portal, the platform should above all turn out to be a smart experience hub in which a new way of property searching plays a pivotal role. To build this lifestyle platform, CIB called on IT and business consulting company Tobania.

Are you ready for tomorrow?

Lifestyle first

The new generation, the new way of searching and various foreign digital initiatives that are gradually finding their way onto the Belgian market, are triggering a new approach to property searches. To engage both brokers and private individuals in this innovation trend, there is a significant need for a dedicated information hub in which both parties can access ample information and generate value. With the largest new real estate platform Spotto, for instance, you can therefore not only look for properties by region, but also by lifestyle and travel time parameters.

Elaborated in 9 months

To deliver the future-proof platform, CIB Flanders teamed up with Tobania's technology experts. They handled the project-based component of Spotto to the full 100% and, based on their one-stop-shop offer (internal cross-department delivery from testing to development solutions), managed to deliver the platform within a swift nine months. It can therefore be stated that the cooperation between the two parties proceeded smoothly. "We opted for this partnership with Tobania precisely for the reason that we consider them to be a recognisable and reliable IT partner capable of handling complex projects. And Spotto's realisation demonstrated just that”, explains Stephan De Witte, Managing Director at CIB Flanders.

First public release, then on to more

On Wednesday 1 February, the roll-out of the platform to estate agents kicked off. They now have the chance to place their property portfolio online in the coming weeks before the big public release scheduled for 15 March. And what’s next? Well, CIB Flanders and Tobania will continue business right along. Their future plans will mainly include the further development of additional features and new integrations.

Tobania, your wingman in design-build-run

Within the CIB project, the Tobania team operated according to the design-build-run process. In other words: our business team designed the project's roadmap (design), while our development team subsequently proceeded to deploy the platform (build), finally allowing our testing team to ensure a smooth start-up and continued performance (run).
