1. Become more data-driven by incorporating BI dashboards into your organisation

The context

The Business Intelligence sector has experienced exponential growth in recent years. And this trend is expected to sustain. Today's business leaders are aware that data is a precious resource that should be managed wisely to ensure the smooth functioning of their organisations. To help them make decisions, they need strong data analytics tools to gather insights and drive improved decision-making.

Your best move

Your team needs to be data-driven if you want to maximise the benefits of Data Analytics in an existing or recently deployed BI dashboard. In order to do so, adopting a data culture and having well-defined objectives are crucial. Focus on your BI dashboard usage strategy.

2. Appoint a Data Champion and Ambassador in each department to enable Self-Service BI

The context

The number of employees relying on data will increase due to the increasing number of Business Intelligence breakthroughs. According to current BI trends, BI software will become more user-friendly in the future, allowing even non-technical professionals to rely on data insights in their daily tasks. This demonstrates the growing trend in self-service BI.

Your best move

Involving the entire team in Business Intelligence will become your foundation of both top-down and bottom-up data activities. Dashboards will have to be used at presentations as well as in internal communications by your management. Likewise, your various departments will have to incorporate the use of data into routine daily activities. Appointing a Data Champion (Analyst*) and a Data Ambassador (Key Business User) in each team will in fact become paramount, so that each of your departments can commit to integrating Business Intelligence and promoting it to others.

3. Invest in your employees to become more data-driven

The context

As the industry develops, BI software will become more user-friendly. As a result of this industry growth, key users will become more knowledgeable. However, alongside these advances, business leaders must take responsibility for training their staff adequately.

Your best move

We cannot assume that everyone will be data-driven, although as an organisation you should nevertheless be offering knowledge on how to become data-driven. Besides technical training, your staff should also be able to raise awareness of concrete data business goals and on how the programme can assist them.
